Heather Peth Fairchild

Heather Peth Fairchild is a highly accomplished legal professional with a diverse background in law, business, and public service. She earned her undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, where she majored in Communications with an emphasis in public relations and marketing. Before pursuing a legal career, she spent five years as the National Marketing Manager for Ranger Boats, where she played an integral role in developing several long-standing customer loyalty initiatives, including the highly successful Ranger Cup Program.

She went on to earn her law degree from Loyola University, where she also obtained a Certificate in International Law. During law school, she received academic distinctions in Constitutional Law and Immigration Law and served as a practitioner in the Immigration Law Clinic. She was also an active member of the Trial Advocacy Team, further sharpening her litigation and courtroom skills.

Following law school, Heather clerked for the Honorable Judge F. Hugh LaRose, in the 17thJudicial District – Lafourche Parish, gaining invaluable insight into judicial decision-making and courtroom procedure. She then entered private practice as a criminal defense attorney, achieving numerous favorable outcomes for her clients, including dismissals, responsive verdicts, and acquittals. She later expanded her practice into family law, where she developed a strong reputation for effective advocacy and compassionate client representation.

Her career in public service includes work with Louisiana Works (formerly the Louisiana Workforce Commission), where she served as a Workers’ Compensation Mediator for four years before being appointed as a Workers’ Compensation Judge, a position she held for three years. In these roles, she presided over complex disputes, facilitated resolutions, and ensured fair and efficient administration of justice.

Heather is a Certified Family Law Mediator, Certified Workers’ Compensation Mediator, and a Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional. Her unique blend of litigation experience, judicial service, and mediation expertise allows her to approach every case with strategic insight, balance, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
